I’m Linus Koh, a law student who is hungry for work and new experiences . 👋

As a law student in this digital age of disruption, I am fascinated by how technology and data can impact legal doctrines and the practice of law. As a digital native and aspiring practitioner of law, I aim to approach problems with a different set of eyes, one that is influenced by the efficiency of technology, clairvoyance of data and the nuances of the law.

Working with me means working with someone who is not afraid to venture beyond the chambers of the law but into the boardrooms of business or the halls of medicine. I try my best to not see the law in a silo but to see the law as rules that govern and influence the decisions of people across all fields of life.

Work experience

Legal Intern

Kalco Law LLC / May 2021

I conducted research for matrimonial, criminal and land law cases. I had drafted a criminal representation for a High Court case and had also drafted wills during my internship. Lastly, I had conducted research and ideated on possible arguments for corruption related offence.

Medical Officer's Personal Assistant

Singapore Armed Forces / April 2018 - April 2020

I coordinated and executed pre-deployment medical screenings for servicemen going for overseas missions from all 4 services of the armed forces. I had also reworked and overhauled the existing workflow to ensure compliance with existing directives. On top of my clinical duties, I assisted the Medical Officer in drafting study plans, reference materials and training schedules for the other medics.

Launch Intern

Pickupp Private Limited / December 2017 - April 2018

My work Pickupp Private Limited cantered around developing new business relations with potential merchant, maintaining existing partnerships and ensuring smooth operations for the delivery platform. On top of managing relations with business clients, I mediated disputes between clients and the freelanced delivery agents.

Compliance Intern

Kliq Private Limited / April 2021 - August 2021

As the compliance intern, I monitored and analysed for suspicious data on a monthly, quarterly and semi-annual basis through rigorous quantitative and quantitative methodologies. Additionally, my legal education allowed me to render interpretative and drafting assistance to my compliance manager when liaising with the legal departments from our partners and parent organisation.

Co-Founder

ScaleSG / January 2021 - June 2021

I researched into Section 3,4 and 7 of the Protection From Harassment Act (POHA) and implemented the legal tests into binary yes-no questions for ScaleSG. I had also backtested the answers and outcomes to ensure that that they matched existing caselaw. Additionally, as part of the business development team, we had secured partnerships with student welfare providers from the SMU.

Work Ethic

I have always seen the world of work as an extension to my education in schools. This quite aptly explains my obsession to squeeze in as much work experience I possibly can as well as the varied fields of work I have sought prior. I am constantly hungry to seek out new opportunities and experiences to gain more knowledge and competencies for myself and for my potential employers.
